Weaknesses

Did you know that I have a weakness for homemade cookies??

It's very true...which is unfortunate for my body.

Remember, again, how I worked a 13 hour day the other day?

Well we normally have late nights at work about once a week back in the greenhouses where I work

But this year we haven't really had the employees or the money

And as the days and months keep passing, the employees keep disappearing

Right now we're down to 4...actually, really only 3 and a half because one of them is a bit silly and likes to get on my nerves...plus he's not there very often...so he only counts as half. ;)

And all 4 of us are only ever there together on Saturdays

We're also working on getting everything ready and as easy to take care of as possible before it's just down to 2 of us, so we're kind of busy

Needless to say, we've had about 3,000 little perennial plugs (miniature version of plants...what we plant, then grow, then sell) just hanging out in one of our greenhouses waiting to be planted

So Mr Boss Man requested the help of my brothers and sisters and planned a late night

We ended up working from about 6:00 to 9:00 and now I only have about 1,000 plugs sitting in my greenhouse. :D Which is very much easier to do than the 3,000ish

To thank them all for their hard work and sacrifice, I decided to make them chocolate chip cookies. Nummy!!

So that's what I've been doing most of the day...I tripled the batch just to make sure I have enough

I'm giving some to my 2 brothers, my cousin, my brother-in-law (who is just another brother really), Mama Smurf, Papa Smurf, my sister Becca, Mr Boss Man, and 2 of the guys I work with in the greenhouses...a whole lot of people!!

One of my favorite things to do is to make cookies...it's therapeutic. It's a stress reliever for me

There's really only one problem with making cookies...the cookie dough. It's so good!! You just can't help but eat it!!

Don't those look DIVINE?!?!?! Don't worry. They tasted good too. :)

Although today I did much better with my cookie dough intake because I knew Boyfriend and I were going out to dinner tonight to celebrate

He got a raise at work...

Not just any raise...

A $3.00 raise!!

I am not jealous...at all

He went from making less than I do to making $2.50 more than me...so not fair

So we went to Chili's to celebrate

It was nice. :)

Remember how I said I loved homemade cookies?

Mama Smurf made some snicker doodles last week for a little reunion that she and Papa Smurf had with their missionaries that were to die for

Well the other day on my way to work I looked on the counter and saw there were only 2 left...and I knew I had to have them

So I ate them for breakfast along with my oatmeal. :)

On the way out I went to give my niece Sami (aka Trouble) a kiss goodbye (Mama Smurf was babysitting cause Sami's mom had to work) and she looked at me and scowled and said "You eat cookies?" "Yes Sami, I did" "Ewww...don't eat cookies and kiss me!!"

I laughed so hard at that...she is such an adorable girl

She and my nephew (her cousin) Josh play this game of house sometimes

They switch off between brother/sister, father/daughter, and husband/wife

This morning they played husband/wife for awhile until they had to eat lunch

All during their lunch Sami kept calling him "honey"...

"Okay, honey"

"Hi, honey"

"Hey honey"

Finally Josh got tired of being called honey and said "Sami, I do not want to play that game anymore!!"

They sure are cute kids.

Well, I'm off to bed...well, really to read until the dryer finishes so I can rotate the laundry

Hope you had a good one!!

Bother

Remember how I worked a 13-hour day yesterday?

My body was screaming at me when I went to get out of bed this morning to come to work.

I mean it. Literally. Screaming.

Well, okay...maybe not screaming...maybe more chastising. That might be a better word for it.

Body: "Excuse me...but do you not remember yesterday?"

Me: "Well, I've been trying to block it out...but since you bring it up, yes."

B: " Would you like to tell me then why you are getting up so early?!"

M: "Well, I do have to work today..."

B: "Seriously? Would you like to inform me why you are working after such a long day?"

M: "Ummm...I'm scheduled to? I need the money?"

B: "And what about me? Don't MY wants and needs matter?"

M: "Well, yes of course, but -"

B: "But nothing!! You don't care about me. You think I'll just do whatever you want me to???? Well one day I won't!!!!"

M: *pulls out a Reese's Peanut Butter cup and starts to unwrap it*

B: "Fine." *sigh* "I'll forgive you." *happily swallows RPBC*

Yeah...I woke up this morning and my body did NOT want to get out of bed...

Did you know that this morning I needed to call mama smurf to make sure she had a recipe that Peach said she had given her

I picked up my phone, found her name, and pushed talk

Only thing is...the voice that answered wasn't mom

"Hello?" Peach said

I looked down at my phone and saw that I had, indeed, called Peach

"Oh shoot. Did I call you?"

"Yep"

Well...I didn't want to leave her hanging feeling like I didn't really appreciate her or want to talk to her...

So I said "Well, sorry...I meant to call mom...but I love you anyways!!"

I think I pulled it off...I think she was okay that I didn't mean to call her...

I hope...

My alarm clock died this morning...it's been dying for awhile...but it still woke me up, so I haven't gotten rid of it.

When the alarm goes off, the clock starts blinking like the power has gone out...but if I change the time then it stops and life is good again

Well this morning, I got up, snoozed it a couple of times and finally got out of bed

I changed the time, like usual, but it didn't stop blinking so I just left it

But when I got home from work it said it was still 7:12 in the morning...

Bother. That means it's time to have a funeral and buy a new one. Peach is in charge of this funeral as well. ;)

I had something that I was going to tell...but all I really remember is that I had to do something over 3 times before I could finally get it right...so yeah...I don't remember.

Normally I have to go back to my house at least 3 times because I've forgotten something...but that didn't happen this morning...

I normally forget that I have water running in one of my greenhouses around 3 times...but it's been so rainy the past few days I didn't really need to water

I normally walk into Peach's office about 3 times a day to pester bother talk to her...but actually a couple of the times I walked in there because she needed my help, so I'm not counting today

I don't work up in the retail part anymore...so it wasn't in helping a customer...

Hmmm...nope. Not coming to me.

You know how when you're getting a cold you can taste it? I've been tasting it for the last couple of days and I'm just really praying that it goes away before it unleashes it's full ugliness

Okay, I feel like all I'm doing is rambling...the sad thing is I had funny stories to tell

I just don't really remember them

So, instead of bothering you some more, I'll sign off for the evening

Hope you had a good day and that you have a great night.

Sunday quotes and words

Did you miss me??

"I like it better than dirt."

- Papa Smurf
in reference to my sister Tiffany's dessert...poor Tiffany.

"My grandfather once told me that there were two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was much less competition."

- Indira Gandhi

"Divide and rule, a sound motto. Unite and lead, a better one."

- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

And the word of the day is....

Fossick:
To search for any object by which to make gain
To undermine another's digging; search for waste gold in relinquished workings, washing places, etc.
To hung; seek; ferret out

"Chorley ate and watched pigeons fossick for crumbs among the iron table and chair legs."

Night everyone!! :D
