Weaknesses

Did you know that I have a weakness for homemade cookies??

It's very true...which is unfortunate for my body.

Remember, again, how I worked a 13 hour day the other day?

Well we normally have late nights at work about once a week back in the greenhouses where I work

But this year we haven't really had the employees or the money

And as the days and months keep passing, the employees keep disappearing

Right now we're down to 4...actually, really only 3 and a half because one of them is a bit silly and likes to get on my nerves...plus he's not there very often...so he only counts as half. ;)

And all 4 of us are only ever there together on Saturdays

We're also working on getting everything ready and as easy to take care of as possible before it's just down to 2 of us, so we're kind of busy

Needless to say, we've had about 3,000 little perennial plugs (miniature version of plants...what we plant, then grow, then sell) just hanging out in one of our greenhouses waiting to be planted

So Mr Boss Man requested the help of my brothers and sisters and planned a late night

We ended up working from about 6:00 to 9:00 and now I only have about 1,000 plugs sitting in my greenhouse. :D Which is very much easier to do than the 3,000ish

To thank them all for their hard work and sacrifice, I decided to make them chocolate chip cookies. Nummy!!

So that's what I've been doing most of the day...I tripled the batch just to make sure I have enough

I'm giving some to my 2 brothers, my cousin, my brother-in-law (who is just another brother really), Mama Smurf, Papa Smurf, my sister Becca, Mr Boss Man, and 2 of the guys I work with in the greenhouses...a whole lot of people!!

One of my favorite things to do is to make cookies...it's therapeutic. It's a stress reliever for me

There's really only one problem with making cookies...the cookie dough. It's so good!! You just can't help but eat it!!

Don't those look DIVINE?!?!?! Don't worry. They tasted good too. :)

Although today I did much better with my cookie dough intake because I knew Boyfriend and I were going out to dinner tonight to celebrate

He got a raise at work...

Not just any raise...

A $3.00 raise!!

I am not jealous...at all

He went from making less than I do to making $2.50 more than me...so not fair

So we went to Chili's to celebrate

It was nice. :)

Remember how I said I loved homemade cookies?

Mama Smurf made some snicker doodles last week for a little reunion that she and Papa Smurf had with their missionaries that were to die for

Well the other day on my way to work I looked on the counter and saw there were only 2 left...and I knew I had to have them

So I ate them for breakfast along with my oatmeal. :)

On the way out I went to give my niece Sami (aka Trouble) a kiss goodbye (Mama Smurf was babysitting cause Sami's mom had to work) and she looked at me and scowled and said "You eat cookies?" "Yes Sami, I did" "Ewww...don't eat cookies and kiss me!!"

I laughed so hard at that...she is such an adorable girl

She and my nephew (her cousin) Josh play this game of house sometimes

They switch off between brother/sister, father/daughter, and husband/wife

This morning they played husband/wife for awhile until they had to eat lunch

All during their lunch Sami kept calling him "honey"...

"Okay, honey"

"Hi, honey"

"Hey honey"

Finally Josh got tired of being called honey and said "Sami, I do not want to play that game anymore!!"

They sure are cute kids.

Well, I'm off to bed...well, really to read until the dryer finishes so I can rotate the laundry

Hope you had a good one!!

Night!!

Those cookies look AMAZING! I am envious... I agree with you about the cookie dough - I usually eat so much of it that by the time the cookies are out of the oven, I don't want them anymore. ;) haha!

Owning a family business can be stressful beyond belief and chocolate chip cookies sound like a wonderful stress reliever. Looks like you baked a fantastic batch full of love!

I love the sight of those cookies! Thank you for the photograph!!! Sami's got a sharp nose! 3000 to 1000 is AWESOME! Wow. And I thought 400 plus emails was much!

p.s. I noticed you didn't mention the 1/2 person in your list of cookie winners. :D

Yay for $3 raise! Eat for me too!!!!

Those are some seriously photogenic cookies. And congrats Boyfriend on the raise!

(P.S. So I'm watching the last season of GG you brought me and realized Boyfriend is what Lucy calls Marty! Is that where you got his nickname from?)
