Out of the mouth of babes...

9 year old babes that is

The other night I was playing on the Wii, trying to get in my daily exercise (I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but it's true!!)

There I was, minding my own business with Boyfriend playing a game in the background, when pretty much all of my nieces and nephews came over and tromped themselves downstairs to play

As soon as they saw me playing on the Wii they surrounded me to watch

Well, this one exercise that I was doing is like an obstacle course

You have to jump over things (but you can't really jump because then it gets mad at you and starts you ALL the way back at the beginning), dodge things, run really fast...it looks pretty easy, but combining them all is actually pretty difficult

Anyway, this is the conversation I proceeded to have with my 9 yr old niece

Allie: "This looks really easy"

I just laughed and told her it wasn't as easy as it looked

A: "I bet I could do it really easily"

Me: "Allie, I promise, it isn't as easy as it looks"

A: "Whatever, I can do it really quick and easy"

This is when my nephew pipes in and says it looks easy to him too

M: "I promise guys, it's a lot harder than it looks"

So Allie looked at Boyfriend and said: "Isn't it easy?"

He said: "No, I promise, it's a lot harder than it looks"

A: "Whatever, I'm sure I could do it, no problem"

So I stopped and looked at her and said "Allie, have you every played this before?"

"No, but I've played other obstacle course type games"

M: "Okay, well just because you've played those doesn't mean this is going to be easy"

A: "Whatever. I'm sure it's easier for kids than adults"

Now this made me laugh and very curious

So I said: "And what makes you think that?"

A: "Kids get more exercise than adults"

Hahahahahaha. This made me laugh

M: "You can just assume that Allie. It depends on the adult"

A: "Well my dad runs..."

M: "Yeah...him and others"

A: "Yeah, my mom runs too"

M: "Again, them and others"

A: "Yeah, well I still think it'll be easy"

M: "You can't assume that every kid is out getting a boat load of exercise either"

It made me laugh really hard. Oh to be young again :)

Today I "got" to check the messages in our retail store, because no one else does it

There were 14 messages, 10 were just hang ups, 2 were real, but my favorite 2 were:

#1: Listening to an old guy sneezing...the kind of sneezing that scares people

#2: I think I listened for about 3 or 4 minutes straight talking to someone else about how disappointed he was in his kids and how they needed to go back to school and get a better life

It just made me laugh really hard

Anyway, now that it has taken me two hours to write this (partly because blogger is evil) I'm going to end...because all I'm really do is blabbing

I hope you all had a great day!!

Night!!

Kids do get more exercise than adults, but adults are busy chasing after them. So, it's basically a wash.

Kids are sooooo confident. Did they try it? Was it easier for them? The Granddaughter got Wii Wipeout for her birthday and there was definitely some frustration going on during the play. So ha!

What I want to know is did you let her try it? I'm guessing she could have done it. :)

I think you had more patience then I would of. I exercise once in awhile on the wii with the daycare girls here and they are always saying I can do this better then you, that was until I had them try it. Now they work out beside me on their pretent boards and understand it's not as easy as it looks.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm gonna finish reading what's I've missed since Halloween candy. Take care and God Bless!!

I'd have been mad at those kids. I know I would have even reached out to hit someone.
