About the Boyfriend?

Ok as I hear it you have all requested some kind of background information about me. So I have been informed that I am to talk a little bit about myself tonight. I want to start off by saying that I am sorry for keeping Baby Sister from writing blogs sometimes. I happen to like to keep her to myself and well that keeps her from y'all, and for that I am sorry (only slightly ;P heheh)

I was born and lived most of my life in East Texas. I was home schooled all the way through high school. My parents got our first computer when I was about 13. I loved it! It was so fun to learn about and I have never lost that love of computers. I started using it as much as I could and learning all I could about it when I was able to use it. Each time I used a computer I would learn more and more. When I was about 15 I made my first website. That website was a huge flop and was so poorly made that I killed it but then I tried again and again and then again. I kept getting better at HTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS and XML. By the age of 18 I had a website that my friend had hosted with a forum, an image gallery and a live chat. I had a couple hundred hits per day and it was updated at every chance I got. After I graduated from High School I started taking college classes for a Networking Major. Holy cow that is an interesting subject to study when you have no networking background. I loved what I learned but I utterly failed the classes. If I were to take them again with what I know now I would rock that subject. :P (With my current job, I know a lot of business architecture for how to set up Firewalls, Servers, Switches and hundreds of computers within that network with static IP addresses. I can set up proxies and block access as well as allow access to certain websites with the right equipment. But that I will explain at a later time.) When I turned 21 I moved to California and lived there for 6 months. I couldn't find any work there, a lot of not great things happened, and so I moved back to Texas and fell into a wonderful depression that lasted about a year and a half. After my depression subsided I started working at Sam's Club. (I have a muscle disorder) After about 5 days of work I had to quit. The Supervisor that I was under was really good about it and she offered to let me use her as a reference. After that fiasco I almost went back into depression but my moms Boyfriend gave me the best pep-talk that I have ever had and he quickly pulled me out of it. (Don't let that fool you, I don't like him in the least and never will because he is a jerk to my mom about 80% of the time which is 80% too much.) After that I applied at my old job (at a call center). I hated that place but I needed work again or I would harm someone at my house. During this time I was playing online games. It was the only thing that really helped me escape from my annoying life that I hated. That is where I met Baby Sister. That's right I met her while playing a video game online. Hehe! It took a year of convincing me to move for me to actually do it. I couldn't be happier that I moved to Utah because not only do I live so close to her that I could walk from my house to hers I also have a way better job and almost double the pay as back in Texas.

Yes I didn't give you all of the details but that is a large chunk of my life right there so I hope you enjoy it in some way, shape or form.

Random Technical Fact:
There are a few different types of connections to the internet.

PPPoE stands for:

Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet

This connection is used mostly by DSL and Dial-up connections. You can also still find them on some older Broadband connections such as a connection through Fiber optic internet. What it does is it requires your Router/Modem to log into a PPPoE server and get an IP address and provide that IP address to your Router/Modem.

DHCP stands for:

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol

This allows your connection to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server automatically on an interval that your ISP has predetermined. This is becoming the most commonly used out of the different types of connections.

STATIC is:

The ability to keep a single IP address at all times

If you want to run any servers at all you will almost always use this option. Most ISP's will allow you to purchase a Static IP address that you can use for File Servers to VPN's specific computers you want to have them (The last one is possible but a waste of time and a waste of a computer because they aren't meant to be used in that way).

(NOTE: You can use the option in a lot of advanced routers that allow you to set up port forwarding and that gives outside access to the device with a fake IP address that the router assigns but that IP address can be accessed from computers on the internet.)

And that is my nerdy info for the night. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of that. I kind of just pulled all of that from my head there.

I was really enjoying the romantic stuff (another lovely Internet connection) and the background story and then the nerd talk glazed my eyes over. You know on the Charlie Brown cartoons when the parents talk and it sounds like Wah Wah Wah? Sorry, but that's what happens. My Hubby worked for a long distance company for many years and he knew all the details about how it works. I would go to call my sister long distance and he would ask if I wanted to know how that call went thru - pops and switches and all that stuff. No, I don't! =D Now back to the romance. Inquiring minds want to know what the Boyfriend's intentions are toward Baby Sister!!!
